God's Original Plan
God Created Man and Woman
Genesis 2:7 God created man out of the dust of the ground.
Genesis 2:21-22 - God caused Adam to sleep, took one of his ribs and made a woman.
God Made Them Male and Female - Genesis 1:27, Genesis 5:1-2 and Matthew 19:4
God Told Them Be Fruitful and Multiply - Genesis 1:28, Genesis 9:1, Genesis 9:7 and Genesis 35:11.
NOTE: To obey God's command to be fruitful and multiply would take a man and a woman.
God also created all species male and female and told them to be fruitful and multiply. Genesis 1:22 and Genesis 8:17 (God speaking to Noah)
It should be obvious to any intelligent person who reads these verses that there are only two genders being discussed. It is more than reasonable for anyone who is an honest scholar to understand that men and women who have sex and can procreate will produce baby boys and baby girls. That is the case for every living creature since God told them to multiply "after their kind." That applies to every land, sea and air creature such as horses (land), whales (sea) and eagles (air). Scriptures that verify this are Genesis 1:20-25 (especially verse 22) and in Genesis 8:15-17 God speaking to Noah tells him that he and his wife and his sons and his sons wives should go forth from the ark with all the creatures so that the creatures may "breed abundantly" in the earth and be fruitful and multiply.
Let's identify what we are speaking of when it comes to the terms sex or intercourse. Both terms originally applied only to men and women copulating for the purpose of keeping the human race from being extinct. For an undetermined time that was the normal expression of sex until people began to engage in other sexual behaviors including sex with animals. To start this presentation, I will look at what is called heterosexual behavior, and I'll begin by sharing one fact that is overlooked in our generation while people discuss, argue and debate over what is right and wrong concerning sex.
Heterosexual couples have sinful sex
There are two heterosexual acts of sex that are sinful according to the teachings of Holy Scripture, and they are fornication and adultery.
Fornication is sex outside of marriage between two single individuals of different genders. Adultery is a man or woman engaged in sex with someone who isn't their wife or husband.
Some scriptures on fornication include
1 Corinthians 6:18-20 which says; "flee fornication," and it is sin against our own bodies,
1 Corinthians 6:9-11 includes fornicators in a list of those who shall not inherit the kingdom of Heaven, and in
Ephesians 5:3 we are instructed, "But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints."
These scriptures are a tiny sample of scriptures on this wickedness.
Scriptures concerning adultery include
Proverbs 6:32 stating that he that commits adultery lacks understanding and destroys his soul.
Matthew 5:28 says, "But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart." (Here even thinking of adultery is evil).
Hebrews 13:4 - Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.
Exodus 20:14 is clear cut as one of the Ten Commandments when it states "Thou shalt not commit adultery." When we transgress God's laws, including laws on sexual behavior we are in sin. God rightly expects us to repent of our sin. Without him we wouldn't even exist.
So now comes what is a delicate subject for humans but not for God - Lust!
It seems no matter what sexual activity we speak of or argue over we omit the word lust from the conversation. I believe that omission is deliberate in virtually every case. What is lust? The word lust in
the dictionary implies a very strong desire for some gratification and it is most often used in reference to sex, although we could lust for power, material wealth and many other things beside sexual lust. However, in this presentation we are speaking of lust specifically in reference to sexual lust. What does the Bible say about lust?
Galatians 5:16 - "This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh." Here God is speaking to those who are his children, who love and obey him, warning them against lust of the flesh. He precedes that with how to avoid it.
1 John 2:16 "For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world." Here lust is said to be not of God, the Father, but of the world. The prince of this world is Satan, so when we lust we serve Satan and cannot please God.
1 Peter 2:11 - "Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul." Here we are told to abstain from lust because it wars against out soul. This is the battle we fight all our life to overcome temptation that. More often than not we fail to conquer lust and that along with our other sins, would lead us to eternal damnation if we refused to repent of them when God speaks to our hearts through our conscience to do so.
James 1:14-15 - "But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed."
Here we need to understand that it is our lust that moves us past the point of temptation. We can't blame it on the devil or any demon or other human. Lust exists in our hearts before it ever manifests itself in our thoughts and actions. Satan just knows how to draw it out.
So far, if we've been honest scholars, we must confess that lust is evil and the God of the Bible doesn't approve of it in any way. Sin is offensive to God who is perfect and pure in every way. We can learn that through a study of God in the Bible or be ignorant of it by disregarding the Bible to our own detriment. Judgment day will reveal whether or not we sought knowledge of God and why we either did or didn't get to know him. It's frightening when we consider the consequences of that failure which could easily be avoided.
Everything discussed so far has be a prelude to what follows concerning sex and God's views on a subject dealing with God's laws on sex that must be obeyed since God alone has the right to set the rules whether we respect them, disrespect them or simply ignore them is entirely up to each of us. I believe the Bible is very precise on this subject for those who will be honest with themselves and with God. People who seek to alter the words, pervert their meaning or act in ways to change them so they fit their desired narrative are not honest with themselves, others or God, and if they die without repenting of their willfull sin, they choose God wrath over his love. Nobody has lived or will ever live who chooses to run against the commandments and laws of God and will not be punished for his or her rebellion against God's commandments and laws. All who will repent of their sins before they die can find forgiveness and eternal peace in the presence of God forever. God is patient but he will never condone sin in any person and because he is perfectly just in all things he must judge and punish sin.
Homosexuality, lesbianism and other sexual activity violating God's laws.
Before any consideration of what the Bible says on this subject is presented, there are other factors in dealing with this subject that must be considered. Anyone who wishes to be honest and isn't bigoted concerning their view will respect the views that counter their belief and their narrative and weigh both views fairly. A person who is closed to considering any other view than theirs will be unteachable and also unreachable unless they become willing to change.
For that person who believes they are so knowledgeable on the subject of sex that nothing could persuade them otherwise, I present a quote co-authored by myself and the President of a college I attended.
"No man has all the knowledge on any subject at any time, so then, we can all stand to learn something more about what we know or what we think we know." John Q. Kenzy and C R Lord © somewhere between 1976 -1980
Consider the following; Theologically, there are two genders mentioned in scripture, and it's been that way since the beginning of time. There's no proven genetic proof of a homosexual or lesbian gene causing a departure from this rule. Despite many attempts at refuting this truth no definitive offering has ever been honestly put forward to reverse this truth. Further, God's commandment to men and women to be fruitful and multiple is impossible for same sex couples which solidifies God's design as the only workable design to bring children into the world. God gave sex as a means of pleasure between husbands and wives. Also, he has laws against fornication and adultery that he rightly expects us to obey. Having any sex outside those laws is sin, and we don't get to make the rules. We are to obey them.
The best psychological studies also prove that the best environment for children to be raised in is one with a father and a mother. For Christian parents, we're to train our children in the way they should go, and that the only right way is God's way. Of course, those who reject scripture and God believe they can find ways to circumvent their responsibility and dismiss their accountability to God or they refuse to believe in God. Both roads lead to damnation unless repented of. The happiest and most stable children grow up with loving parents who teach them about the love and mercy of God and encourage them to live for him. This is proven in life and will be vindicated before the throne of God on the day when all who ever lived will appear before God to be judged for their thoughts, words and actions.
So biology doesn't support more than two genders in spite of the massive attempts to deny what is obvious and plain to everyone except for those who seek to find a support of any kind to their narrative. These people will adamantly hold on to their beliefs despite any proof to the contrary because they love something enough to continue living in denial no matter what they see, hear or experience. Many live in misery knowing they are going against their own conscience, and others live in a state of mind that gives them a sort of happiness and vindication in their own mind. In such relationships emotion is mistaken to be love. Satan sells them a lie while luring them farther and farther from God and the salvation he offers.
What does the Bible say about same sex relationships? Before answering that question, I must state that some choose to make scripture say what it never intended to say through the twisting and turning of the mind and heart convincing themselves that their repudiation of scripture is justified. Two prime examples of this are in two godly relationships that are misunderstood and falsely presented. Those are the stories of David and Jonathan and Ruth and Naomi. The mistakes revolve around the word love in both cases. David is said to love Jonathan and Ruth is said to love Naomi. Rather than accept that their love in both cases had to do with affection rather than sexual attraction, some in the LGBTQ community insist on twisting the narrative to support homosexual and lesbian sexual intimacy. There isn't any possible way to prove such a relationship since David was Jonathan's closest friend among men and they loved one another as brothers would love brothers. It had nothing to do with sex. The same can be said of Ruth and Naomi. Ruth adopted Naomi as her mother, even though they weren't related. She was thankful for Naomi's love and returned that love as a daughter would to a mother. That was proven when Ruth married a man whose name was Boaz. Naomi helped to make it happen. Would two lesbians approve such a relationship knowing it would end a relationship? This would decidedly be a “where the rubber meets the road” kind of situation. It would require incredible restraint on the part of both women. A long established bond would need to be broken.
Leviticus 18:22-24 "Thou shalt not lie with mankind as with womankind; it is abomination, neither shalt thou lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith; neither shall any woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto; it is confusion, defile not ye yourselves in any of these things....." In verse 26 - 29 God calls these things abominations three times. When God repeats himself it's very noteworthy. The word abomination speaks of something that is detestable to God and exceedingly wicked. Such things, except for Christ's sacrifice for us are damnable offense, but God has made a way to be free from our lusts.
Leviticus 20:13 - If a man lie with mankind as he lieth with a woman both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death, their blood shall be upon them." Here God tells the Israelites that homosexuality will bring the death penalty. I really don't think God can get any more serious concerning same sex relations. A few verses later God speaks once more against beastiality in both the women and men. In both cases God demands the death penalty for the man, woman and sadly, the innocent beast.
It would take a ton of twisting and turning to make this say something other than what it truly says. God will have none of it. Today he is just as angry over this wickedness as he was then, and yet in spite of that, he sent his only son to sacrifice his life for all who will repent of homosexuality, lesbianism, transgenderism, bi-sexual, masochist sexual acts, pedophilia and all other sex that is not within a heterosexual marriage. However heterosexual acts, as are previously spoken of will receive the full weight of the judgment of God if people die without repenting of those sins. Even in marriage some men and/or women will give in to marital rape or other evil temptations. So to be married is not a complete safeguard that keeps us from yielding to temptation to disgrace, abuse or dishonor our spouses in any way. It is in our nature to sin because we have inherited that nature and choose to give in to it.
Now we move from the Old Testament under God's covenant with Moses to a new covenant purchased with the blood of Christ on Calvary for all who will exercise faith in him to receive forgiveness and salvation and deliverance from our own lusts and other sins.
The most significant part of the New Testament dealing with sexual behavior is found in Romans 1:18-32. I will begin with verses 18 through 20. In verse 19 God, through his apostle Paul, expresses his wrath will come against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who hold the truth in unrighteousness. Simply put, his wrath is against those who regard his truth as unrighteous.
I ind little, if anything, that could be more foolish than mocking the creator of the universe and everything in it to his face while calling his words unrighteous. It has to be arrogance and foolishness magnified many times over. God is holy and perfect. There is no entity in existence who is always right but him. Perfection cannot be mistaken because to ever be mistaken would not be perfect. This is simple logic many cannot grasp or refuse to believe.
Let's move on to the verses 19-20. God goes on to give a reason as to why this is worthy of his wrath. In verse 19 he tells us "That which may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has showed it unto them." In other words God has been gracious enough to let us know of his existence so that there can be no credible argument against it. How did he do that? Verse 20 holds the key! "For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are seen and understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse."
What God is saying here is astounding! The knowledge of God is manifest in every person ever born. Manifest means "clear or obvious to the eye or mind." Deep in our spirits is the certain knowledge of God and it's irrefutable, so God can say that we are without excuse. Rejecting his existence is to reject what we know in our very being to be true. God put that knowledge there, and it is that knowledge that leads us to seek him out. When we do he reveals himself to us on a personal level. We have been given sure knowledge of God, a conscience to convict us when we sin against him, and faith enough to believe that if we come to him he will forgive us. We have it all within us and need to turn to God and open our hearts and minds to receive his love and mercy rather than his wrath and judgment.
Verses 21-22 speak of willful rebellion against God and how men became vain in their imaginations and began to create other gods to worship and "professing themselves to be wise, they became fools." If you study the Bible you will see that God says he is the "only true and living God." That means all other gods are mere idols and the creation of men who were deceived by Satan and went along with it. He also speaks of idols that men worship by kneeling to images of their god created in their minds and hearts. This sin is condemned through the scripture as idolatry or the worship of other gods.
Verses 24-32 begin to deal with the homosexual and lesbian sexual activity and what God says about it, and it has gendered resentment among multitudes of men and women who refuse to accept it. Verse 24 states, "Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves:" Once more we speak of lust and lust that has been rooted in the hearts of men and women. In many cases the roots are buried deep and for some so deep there is almost no hope of recovery. These are spoken of in Verse 25 - "Who changed the truth of God into a lie.....” Calling God's truth a lie is insanity of the worst kind. What we would never do to a judge in a courtroom on earth, we do to God who is the judge of all judges. This is foolishness on a level that shouts out how deep sin can run in a human being!
Verse 26 - 27 is God's view on homosexual and lesbian sex. This is so easy to understand that to refute it should be frightening to those who choose to do so. God calls out both using words like vile affections, that which is against nature, and burning in lust. Does anyone really believe there is some other way to read and interpret this than what is plainly evident? Vile? lust? What's difficult to grasp concerning those terms? Yet, those who are trapped by Satan and who harden themselves against God will somehow go right past those words and insist that the God who spoke those words really doesn't mean what he has spoken. It is a most horrible situation and God closes the door on some of them in verse 28 when he gives a pronouncement telling us "since they didn't like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind to do those things which are not convenient." A reprobate mind is a mind that is no longer capable of distinguishing between what's good and what's evil. To be in that state has got to be horrible! I can't even imagine such a thing as to be so totally messed up in your heart and mind! That would be a great tragedy!
Verses 29-32 expose many other things that are evil including "haters of God," Verse 32 tells us that they not only take pleasure in those things but take pleasure in them that do them. Sex is one of the strongest draws on the human heart in existence. It's strength is undeniable as anyone rational and honest will attest to.
There are other verses dealing with homosexuality and lesbianism, but my study of Romans 1:18-32 is so clear and precise that I don't think any other content is necessary. The God of the Bible is completely against these behaviors. He sent Jesus Christ to pay the price for our sins with his blood as he hung bleeding and dying on the cross so we would not be damned as we deserve. Fighting against God is futile because he is the final judge of all things and will not give mercy to those who choose to die in sin throwing away the precious gift of salvation he offers.
Sexual satisfaction is a very temporary thing, and damnation is eternal. If you are involved in this wickedness please be wise enough to confess your sins, seek God for his forgiveness and put your faith in Christ's death on Calvary as full payment for your sin. He will give you eternal life in return and peace that we can never find anywhere else. Today is the day of decision. Today is the day of salvation. We are not promised tomorrow.
