God's Eternity
Job 38:4 - "Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? " - God existed before earth's creation. God is Eternal - This means he never began to exist and will always exist!
FROM EVERLASTING TO EVERLASTING THOU ART GOD! PSALMS 90:2
God is referred to throughout scripture as the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last! He alone is an uncreated being!
Genesis 21:33 - “And Abraham planted a grove in Beersheba and called there on the name of the everlasting God.”
Deuteronomy 33:27 - “The eternal God is they refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms”
Psalms 90:2 - “Before the mountains were brought forth or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world; even from everlasting to everlasting thou art God.”
Romans 1:20 - “For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen; being understood by the things that are made; even his eternal power and godhead...”
Romans 16:26 - referring to the mystery (vs 25) - “But now is made manifest and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God…….”
When we kneel in prayer is it the eternal God we kneel to or a God limited by our own understanding? Do we take time to consider who we are addressing, or is it a mere thoughtless habit we formed? Enter into his courts with thanksgiving Psalms. 100
“Time marks the beginning of created existence, and because God never began to exist it can have no application to him. Because God lives in the eternal now he has no past and no future. He has already lived all our tomorrows as he has lived all our yesterdays. That is why God can say, I am God and there is none other like me.” A W Tozer - Knowledge of the Holy
Genesis 1:1 - "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth." In the beginning of what? Who is this God who suddenly comes unannounced into the story of creation?
How did he get there? Where did he come from? These are some of the questions that people may ask you as you minister to them. Do you have the answers? The first answer is simple enough - "the beginning of time." Up until this point only eternity existed, and at the appointed time it will be that way again and time will end. As far as God, "Elohim" in the Hebrew, is concerned, He is the supreme ruler in the universe. He didn't get there and we need no explanation of where he came from because he always existed everywhere! Consider the rest of the first verse of scripture. Is there only one heaven or are there more? Just what exactly was this earth that the first verse talks about? Did it include the waters at this point or does that come later? Just how did God "create" everything?

Imagine this scene if you can!
The world has come to an end, and God calls all people of all time to stand before the Great White Judgment. In the crowd are men, women and young people who have rebelled against God's commandments and rejected the salvation offered in Christ. All the unsaved are on their faces in great fear and trembling before God's holy piercing gaze knowing the fear of God for the first time, and knowing that all their arguments on earth are meaningless here!
The books spoken of in Revelation 20:12 are opened and the sins of everyone are on display for the whole universe to see. Then God pronounces sentence according to verse 13 and it is carried out as described in verse 15. Hear the pleading and crying out for mercy, and watch as the unsaved are cast out of God's presence forever into that Lake burning with fire and brimstone!
The righteous who trusted Christ alone for their salvation are welcomed by God into his loving presence for all eternity on the new earth as foretold in Revelation 21. The reckoning is over, and eternity begins for everyone one way or the other!
How important do you think the gospel will be to them on earth? On judgment day? If they never prepared to face God?
